Day to Night Outfit with AUrate New York

10/12/2017 05:49:00 pm

Hi Peeps!!

AUrate New York is a jewellery company from New York City and their jewellery are handmade from ethically sourced materials. Positive social impact drives them in what they do, and I love their story! After reading about their story, they don't use any conflict materials in their jewellery. With their 'A Book for your Look' program, which they partner with Philidelphia schools and they give back by donating books to economically disadvantaged school children with each purchase of their jewellery! I love what they are doing and would love to share more about their brand to you guys!

Now, they have a project running in which they challenge woman to share how they will style and play an outfit from day to night. I have decided to participate in this challenge, and I love it! I always wonder, how do I dress up or down without changing too much jewellery or accessories. And this is what I came up with!

For this day outfit, I've chosen a floral printed off shoulder dress that looks casual and girly at the same time. Perfect for a nice casual hang out with friends or even a cute outfit for uni! Then, I paired it with AUrate New York's gold Flower Earrings Studs. I think there will be never enough of floral in one outfit and is true! It looks super girly and I love it! The earrings will be a great daily jewellery. A small grey leather backpack helps to neutralise the girly-ness that is happening for the whole outfit! Pairing with a light pink high top converse will show off your sporty side of the outfit, balancing the girly look of the outfit. The whole outfit is casual, sporty and girly at the same time, which is comfortable and still pretty as a whole!

Although the day outfit is minimal and cute. With the same dress, a night outfit for a drink with friends for the night will be styled with black pumps and a beige clutch or purse, that just enough to bring all the necessities. Keeping on the earrings studs, which still fits perfectly with the night outfit, layer on the jewellery with a crystal necklace to show the glamour look for a night out. With the change of shoes to heels, it has already change the game from casual to a glamorous look. It will be a perfect outfit for the night out!
Layering on jewellery will help you style a day to night outfit with ease!
How do you change your outfit from day to night? I would love to know! Share your tips with me in the comment section below! =)
Until then, I'll talk with you guys soon!

Things No One Tells You in Your First Year of University

9/09/2017 11:20:00 am

Hi Peeps!!

I've been MIA for far too long.
Work and uni just got me real hard! And I can't even sit down and write what is going on with my life right now.
But that won't happen anymore! (I hope!)

Since we are on this topic of how busy uni has been for me this semester, I would like to share some advice to my first year self if I have the chance. Cause no one told me about these things! Also, to you guys who are going for your first sem of uni.

I've always want to get into university and experience the uni life that my parents always shared to me. Giving me a dream to study abroad and to have the freedom and just be an adult and a student at the same time. Wishing to finish high school as fast as possible, get into any pre-university program to be qualify to get into a university. Then, I apply for universities and I got in! I was happy and excited for my new adventures! Now, I'm in my second year of uni in UTS, Sydney, Australia. I'm way happier now compare to when I was in first year of uni.

My first semester was hard. Immediately, I have so much responsibility for myself, money management, house chores, survival (cooking) and my priorities, to study! In my mind, I just couldn't keep them all in line, as I have no idea how to. Together with managing my time for all of these responsibilities just struck me real hard. As time progresses you will learn to manage them all. I was mentally prepared for cooking for all my meals and all the chores I have to do. Therefore, it was easy for me to get those done. But growing up with the teaching system of being fed for answers in Malaysia, it is a struggle for me when I got into uni. I was behind in all my studies and assignments, as my self-discipline is not as strong as I hope. So, I have to start from zero and learn.

Socialising is just part of uni life. When I arrived in Australia, I was grateful for someone in church suggested me to join CREDO, a Christian society in my uni. (I was finding for one anyway, I'm just glad I was pointed to this society that fits me). I find it hard, especially I'm a shy and introvert person. But, I've put in effort by pushing myself out of my comfort zone and make friends through this society. I can have the choice to just let go and not join, but I was glad I persevere and now I have lots of friends, good friends, friends that I can trust, and long-term friends. And having a new goal to share the word of God to others! I never imagine my faith can grow so much with this society and I'm forever grateful for them.

Here are some advice from me to you first year to-be:

  1. Just Put Yourself Out There!
Get yourself out of your comfort zone! Uni is where you get to do that, join in society/ communities that you are interested in. You will get to meet tons of different types of people all around the world. If you are like me as an international student in a foreign country, you are already challenge to push yourself, so don't be afraid and just go with it. Remember that everyone as first years will be the same as you, afraid, scared and have no one. So, don't be nervous to strike a conversation with someone beside you in class. He/she might be your long-life friends, and you will never know until you try. Plus, you won't get hurt anyway. *haha*
  2. APPLY EARLY & APPLY for Scholarships.
Know when is the earliest deadline to apply for each universities that you wish to go. Learn about all kinds of scholarship programs and apply for them as early as possible. There's so much competition in applying for a place in uni and for a scholarship program, therefore, the sooner you apply, the higher the chances are for you to get in.
If money is the issue, there are so many different loan options, don't make that issue to stop you from achieving your dreams.
  3. Just be Your True Self!
Remember that everyone is different. So don't try to change your self for others just so you can fit in. No one cares about status and fame, who is cool and what not. Study hard for your studies and also socialise with friends that you made. Try to find a balance, then you get to enjoy the uni life! It is easy to get into the wrong path, so have self-control and know where is the line. Don't do or act in things that you know are bad, and just do not care about it. Uni life is where you learn about the yourself and have the responsibility to take care of yourself.
  4. Take Every Opportunity You Can Get! And Make the Most of It!
I'm leading a bible study group right now, is where I can never imagine myself doing it. Definitely, I'm not a pro in what I'm doing, but I know I won't regret for doing it. It gave me a purpose, a goal to share the word of God to others. It changed the way I see my faith, and it changed how I look in my life too.
In uni, is for you to get as much opportunity that they provide. Learn as much skills as possible to get ready for the adult working world. Don't just focus in your books, there are skills where you will never get them from books. So, grab as much opportunity as possible. You will not regret it!
Especially uni life pass by really quick, make most of your uni life! I only have one more year for my uni life, and I'm already starting to miss it. When I was in my first year of uni, I just can't wait to graduate. Here's my advice, never have those thoughts, and just savour every moment you have in uni! I regretted having those thoughts and did not properly enjoy my first year of uni. So, just enjoy it as much as possible!

Hope that you guys enjoy it, take some advice and enjoy your uni life!
See you guys soon!

Spring Fashion 2017 for Men & Women

5/05/2017 01:24:00 pm

Hiiii!! I'm BACK! :D
Finally we are in the 2nd half of the semester. And yesterday I finally completed one of the huge assignments. I hope it goes well, and now is time for me to rest and chill.

Bonobos asked me to create a fashion mood board for both women and men for this upcoming Spring! I gladly accepted it! Thinking of the trends and 2017's colours. I finally did it!

First of all is for us women.
Off shoulders has become a huge trend for this year, and incorporate with that trend adding with one of this year's colour - this soft pink colour. Thus choosing this off shoulders dress will be perfect for spring.
Also having a sky blue colour from the shoes is also a trendy colour this year.
Combining both colours for this outfit is a great colour scheme.
Holding that sling bag with a hint of floral blue pattern is the perfect design for spring!
How can you not say yes to floral patterns!

Spring Fashion Casual 2017

As for the men, I hope this will help your fashion of just T-shirts and pants with slippers.
Another trendy colour this year is this shade of nude, Hazelnut colour.
I find men can pull off this look really well.
Having a nice casual jacket makes the overall look way better.
Instead of wearing slippers or sandals, wear slip-ins shoes. As they give off a look that you put lots of effort in. An overall well-put look. Which is great!
Off white, nude and a touch of light grey with black shoes. You will be ready for spring!
Spring Men Casual 2017!

If you guys did find this helpful.
Please do comment down below and I'll be happy to read through them =)
And that's it for now.
Until next time :)

Face Your Fashion Fear Challenge!

3/24/2017 08:11:00 am

Hey guys!

I've been challenged to face my fashion's fear by Dia&Co.

Dia&Co. is a curated shopping experience, delivered to your doorstep, exclusively in sizes 14+!

The fashion that I fear of are off shoulders tops or dresses.
Thus it make sense that I do not own any of these clothing styles.
As you guys who know me, will know that I love to dress and be comfortable.

I personally find these two fashion very stylish and attractive. I love them. But never had the courage to try them.
Why?
Because I feel like I have like big shoulders  compare to other petite Asian girls. So it gave me insecurities of showing skin of my shoulders.

When off shoulders became trendy, I build up the courage to buy some off shoulder tops.
But I never really tried to wear it off shoulder. I just wore them up on my shoulders.

Then, when Dia&Co. contacted me, I build up the courage to wear my tops off shoulder.
And here's the results!!

I might need some time to get use to it.
But I love it that now I can pull off this style.

A post shared by Sarah Lee (@sarahlee95) on

Top: Forever 21
Shorts: a.s.a.p.
Slippers: Havaianas

So, if you have a fashion that you fear, my advice is to just try them.
You'll never know how you look until you try them right.
Just give it a go! Love your body and just try them out! You might experience a new and amazing feeling and even gain confidence!
I would love for you guys to experience it once.

Also, if any of you try out any fashion that you feared.
Snap a pic and share it with me!
I would love to see how you guys look!

How to Make Your Date EXTRA SPECIAL!

9/26/2016 03:48:00 pm

Hi Peeps!

It's been a while!
And I have tons of things to share with you all!
Plus this is an exciting post for me to write and I also hope that it will be fun for you all to read and be inspired for your love ones!
*Love is in the air!!!*

Thinking of a date for your love ones might be challenging, as sometimes you want something special to celebrate an anniversary.
Here are some tips, or maybe my advice (from a girl's perspective) to make your special date, EXTRA SPECIAL!

1. Star Gazing!
After I realised how awesome, breathtaking and mind-blown when I look up and stare at the stars.
I finally understand what people mean by 'I can just stare at the sky for hours!'
I can do that too!
It will be so relaxing and you will be amaze by what God created!
Thus, find a spot that is dark and quiet, out from the busy cities.
In a peaceful and quiet environment with just the two of you, while staring at the stars.
That would make a date extra special with the view~
I personally would love to have an alone time with my date, and it will feel extra special, trust me!

And here might be the problem, if your boyfriend do not have a car.
Your problem is solved!
Turo, a car sharing company is on the way for to help your date night extra special! And it is way better than just renting a car!

2. Go on a Road Trip!
Who says that a date have to be just one night!
Rent an Open-roof car, a Jeep, a Minivan or a SUV and drive around to explore more than just your town for the weekend.
In my opinion, this is the best way to communicate with one another and have tons of fun while making great memories and spending it cheaply. =)
Is a win-win situation!

3. Surprise Your Love Ones ♥♥
Thinking and making a surprise event for your other partner is not as easy.
Especially if you are planning to go to a fancy restaurant for your date night!
Rent a fancy car for a night, so that your date will have the best experience ever on that night!
Giving flowers or maybe sing a [handwritten] song will always make your other fell all over you again. ♥
A handwritten letter is my advice!
I love to receive something that is genuine from your heart and I know that you made an effort to do it.
Those little things are the one that highlights the whole date night!♥

4. Remember the little things!
Always try to do little things for your date.
This is especially hard for new couples, but I'm sure your date would love it!
Hold their hand, or give them a surprise back hug *so sweet!!!*
Remember the little details that your date tell you.
I'm sure that you will win her over in no time, when you show such a good listener you are!

5. Spending time together.
Your date is EXTRA Special enough!
No matter where you date and what you do.
As long as you both are together at somewhere, doing something.
Your date is extra special, as there will be no 'same' relationship in this world.
Therefore, you don't have to worry what you have to do on the next date.
Just take it slowly and never rush in a relationship!
That's my advice!

Hope you guys like this post!
And also check Turo out, so that they can be your lifesaver when you need a ride for your date night!
Comment down below and tell me what I miss.
See you guys soon on my next post! =)

Have Bra-Blems? How to Find the Perfect Fit!

3/10/2016 03:49:00 pm

Hi Gals!

I am back with another how-to post!
I recently discovered ThirdLove and thought it would be fun and helpful to bring you all the ultimate guide to fix all your bra-blems.
ThirdLove is a lingerie company that focuses on amazing fitting bras!

Since great fitting clothes are essential in putting together an outfit, isn't a great fitting bra just as important?

Have you ever had an uncomfortable bra situation?
Well I have, and is very annoying when the strap of the bra slipping down my shoulder, and I always have to pull them up to the right place, also very unpleasant to see in public.

To save your bra-blems, I have a few tips here for you!

Before all else, how to put on a bra.
Wait, what?!
I'm sure you all know how to put on a bra.
But, do you really know how to put on a bra the correct way?
These are the correct way of putting a bra on!

Now here are some solutions to your Bra-Blems!
1. Slipping Straps
When those troublesome straps are giving you the slip, follow these quick and easy tips.
  • Tighten the straps. (seems obvious) But as we wear a bra, the straps starts to stretch out. So I recommend to tighten your straps about once a month.
  • If that doesn't work, it might be the time to explore a different bra style. Usually Full and Semi Coverage, and Convertible bras have the narrowest set straps which help keep them on your shoulders. Balconet and Plunge bras will have wider set straps, so if you have narrow or sloping shoulders, the strap issue can be exaggerated with these styles.
2. Band Riding Up
Is your bra band riding up in the back? Here your fix!
  • It's time to buy a smaller band size so that you have a comfortable fit. Remember, when you get a smaller band size, you need to go one size bigger in the cup.
  • You'll know you're in the right band size when you can slip two fingers underneath the back of the band. The band should be snug on the loosest hook, so when your bra stretches out you can continue to tighten it.
3. Straps Digging In
This is a common issue that causes women wanting to rip their bras off the second they walk in the house at the end of the day.
  • Instead of the straps doing the heavy lifting, it should be the bra band that should be doing most of the work.
  • Chances are yours is too big or has stretched out to the point that you're not getting the support you deserve.
  • Try buying one band size smaller.
Remember: When you get a smaller band size, you need to go one size bigger in the cup. Same tip as above!

4. Quad-Boob
In case you are wondering, this doesn't mean that you have four boobs.
But it may look that way when you wear a really tight shirt.
It's okay, here's the tip! ;)
  • Time to trade in a bigger cup, let's give'em some space to breathe. Up a size in the cup!
5. Side Boob
We may spot some celebrities side boob on the red carpet, but I have to tell you, it's not a good look.
  • Your breast spills out of the side of the cup is due to the cup is too small.
  • Eliminating side spillage is easy! Just size up in the cup and size down in the band.
  • Another possibility is that your band is not tight enough, causing the wire sit on your breast.
  • Size down in the band and up in the cup!
Tip: A comfortable band should pull the wire back and allow your breast to sit into the cup properly.

6. Cup Gaping
This is also a fairly common issue for women.
Remember this! "They're Sisters, Not Twins"
Solution?
  • First try tightening the straps. (Sometimes that all you need to do)
  • If that doesn't work. Try going down a cup size. It may be that your cup is just a little too big.
  • If your cup fits well, but there's still room at the top, try a Plunge or Push-up style. These cups are angled and tend to be cut a little smaller to reduce gaping!
Here are some fixes for your bra-blems that I hope that will be kept in mind!
Comment down below and tell me what you all had experience too!

Easy White Christmas Nail Tutorial

12/16/2015 10:07:00 pm

Hi Hi Gals!!

I'm going to share with you all how I did my Christmas nails this year!
I did some tutorials last year and the 2 years before.
Candy Cane Nails here
Snowflakes Nails here

So, this year I'm going to do a simple yet really pretty nail art just for this Christmas!
It's inspired by the snow globe. ♥♥
And there's a white Christmas tree there!! =)

So how to do this?
Things you'll need:
Toothpick
White nail polish
Top Coat
1. Use a white nail polish and draw a line on the tip of the nail.
Doesn't have to be very pretty, cause it represent the landscape of the snow. =)
2. Add white dots which represent the snow falling all around the nails except for the ring finger.
3. Draw a simple white Christmas Tree with a Toothpick on the ring finger nail.
4. Add white dots on the ring finger nail.
5. Put on a layer of top coat.
And you are DONE!!!
♥♥

Simple, easy and still pretty! =)
If you guys did it!
Do share the results with me.
I would love to see your creation! =)

Have a wonderful Christmas ahead! =)
And a Happy New Year!

Room Decoration! (Pinterest Inspired)

12/04/2015 12:33:00 pm

Hi Hi Gals!!

I have to make this post short and sweet!
Cause I'm having my finals this coming week, and just for you guys I took out a few hours just to edit out the pictures I took and write out a post.

So to make this short and sweet. ♥♥
I've been wanting to decorate my room to a little bit prettier like Tumblr or Pinterest style!
(I mean, who doesn't want it right)
I can't change much on my bed area, so I made a space at the corner of my room for decoration!
I love it so so much! ♥♥♥
And also I'm on a budget!
So, I'll be sharing on where I get these items too. (In a much cheaper price!)

This is how it looks like in the whole big picture.
My picture frame, bought it from IKEA when I went to visit KL last 2 months ago.
And just printed a picture of my brother and I from our trip in Pulau Redang.
Those 4 mini Mason Jars were also bought from IKEA.
For 4 of them I think is around RM6.99 or RM9.99.
Filled them up with sweets, seashells, dried flowers and little messages.

These fake roses.
I bought them from TaoBao, so it's really cheap.
Bought 15 flowers, 5 in champagne colour, 5 in white and 5 in pink!
I only have to pay around RM15+- for them.
So for one flower it's around RM1!
Which is really cheap!
These flowers here are the champagne and white roses.
I cut off the stems of the flowers and arranged them to the way I like.
And the vase is from Daiso, so it's RM5.30.
I love the simple look on it!
I don't really remember where I bought this candle from.
I haven't even start burning them yet!
But I do remember is really cheap, at a price range of RM5 to RM7. (Or maybe even lower)
Bought this potpourri from Daiso too which are basically scented dried flowers and leaves.
Chose the lavender scent. (Cause I like it!)
The scent is actually quite strong, so I kept them in the mini Mason Jar and another bigger Mason Jar that I also bought them from IKEA.
And lastly this little glass thing, is actually a candle holder.
I have to find my small mini candles to put inside.
Also bought this from Daiso.
And so you guys can see that all the stuff that I bought are cheaper but also good in quality!
I might also try to add some Christmas Deco around.
Cause Christmas is coming up! ♥♥
But finals first!
Off to study! =)

How to Style Shoulder Length Hair!

10/09/2015 09:02:00 pm

Hi Hi guys!!
I'm back with another hair post!
As you guys know, that I had chopped a few inches of my hair. Here
Now with this new length of hair.
The hairstyle that I would probably wear (if I'm not such a lazy bum) are these! =)

1. Twisted Side Braid.
I just took all my bangs (since my bangs are long) and twists them.
Pin them just behind my ears.
Adjust the puffiness that you like and you're done!!
Perfect for days when you want your bangs out of your face. =)
2. Half Up Half Down.
I guess this is pretty easy for you all.
Just gather all the hair above your ears to the back.
I just use a pretty clip and just pin all the hair together.
3. Braid Half Up Half Down.
If you are a professional in French Braids, it will look even more prettier!!
But for me, I wanted to make it quick and easy.
So I just take 2 chunks of hair at the side of my hair and braid them.
Normal braid, nothing fancy!
And after braiding, just tie it off with a elastic band.
Bring both braids to the back and pin them together with bobby pins.
Taaddaahh, you will look awesome in this look! =)
4. Accessorize
And of course, if you are a lazy bum like me.
Just wear some head accessories.
This is my floral headband from Forever 21.
Still look girly, cute and adorable =)
5. Messy Bun.
If your hair isn't going the way you like on that particular day.
Then just tie it up to a messy bun!
I'd written a post (way back) on how I tie my Messy Bun in a post which is 'How to Get Non Heat Natural Wavy Hair'
That was when my hair was really long.
But is all the same method and it still works in my shoulder length hair. =)
There will be some pieces falling off, especially when your hair is layered.
So just use a bobby pin and pin them up. =)
All these hairstyles are pretty quick and easy hairstyles, that are perfect for school and work.
Hope you guys like it.
And share if you did it! =)

How to Dress Up A Bralette.

9/11/2015 03:40:00 pm

Hi Hi guys!! =D
So sorry for the late post this week!
I have just so much things in my hands, that I couldn't sit down for an hour to type out a new post.
But now, finally I have the time.
And Taaddaahhhh~
New Post Alert!!!

FreshPair is a one of the largest online retailers for men's and women's underwear.
Go check them out!

Yes, we are talking about undergarments again, but in a different way.
We are going to be talking about bras, again!
But instead of just talking about bra, I'm going to be talking about how to style with bralette.
I never own a bralette before, the closest I got is a mini crop top/bandeau bra.
So I'm gonna take some pics that I found in Pinterest on how to dress up bralette.

1st look: Just wear the bralette as a top.

You girls are beautiful just the way you are, so be confident to wear it (if you guys like this look, of course)
This kind of strapped bralette is really pretty and trendy.
It's shows off enough skin, and the design is just unique! =D
Perfect for the hot days out of course, like for my country! And also perfect for summer too!

2nd look: Overlay it with a top.
Wear a simple crop top over the strapped bralette, but still let the bra peak out just a little bit, is just sexy and cute!!
This look is getting more norm these days =D
If you don't want your front to be expose, you can wear an open back top instead.
It really give off a different look for the entire outfit! =D
The one below is the most simplest bralette that we could find in stores. =)

3rd look: Lacy bra.
This is a new look that I recently discover.
The lacy halter neck bras!! Which are amazing!
It gives out a bohemian look, and shows enough bra.

4th look: Just a little peak out.
Wear a normal lacy bralette/ bra.
Pair them with normal t-shirts or even low cut shirts, sweaters and any comfortable tops, but not too low.
So that you can show off a little bit of your beautiful lacy bra.
I like this look!
Nothing too much to show, but just a little peak saying hi! =D
I never said that this is the look I will wear, cause I think my parents will not like it.
But this is definitely a new look for sure, in the fashion industry.
I like it, it brings out feminine for woman, without dressing up much too.
Whoever do try it out, share it with me!
I would love to see =)
