What I Would Wear To A Wedding / Prom | MillyBridal

12/15/2018 12:32:00 pm

Hey all!

It's finally nearing to the end of the year, and I'm back with another post! ~Laugh at myself for being 'productive' with this blog~. If you guys remember the last post on my wishlist dress that was sponsored by MillyBridal. We are back with another post.

Perfect timing!

I have a couple of my friends are getting married next year! And it also mean it is the reason us, girls get a new dress for the occasion. Although I can't make it to the special occasion, a girl can dream on which dress to buy and dress up right? 😄 I put in prom in the title because I personally think that these dresses are also suitable for prom or year end formals too for high school and uni graduates!

So, let's get started! I was scrolling through MillyBridal UK, checking out some pretty dresses, with the mindset of which dress I would pick if I attend any of these events. I found the category in Prom Ball Gowns which is specially for prom and formals. I never thought that prom can be so fancy, and I really like it! If I can attend a prom that I can dress up to be so fancy, I would definitely enjoy myself dressing up for the event.

I chose a couple of dresses from this category which I think is nice for a wedding reception and/or prom events.

1. Two Piece Dresses
Two Piece A-line Sweetheart Tulle Ruffles Knee-length Trendy Prom Dress
Two Piece A-line Sweetheart Tulle Ruffles Knee-length Trendy Prom Dress
A two piece dress is very trendy right now and I'm really loving the look, simple yet dressy enough for a formal event. If you want a knee-length dress and still be comfortable, I believe this would be the dress for you. I will definitely choose this dress for a spring/summer wedding reception / prom. Able to dress up and won't be feeling hot in the heat. Match it with a pair of pumps or even a pair of flats works very well with this dress. Adding on, tulle has become a trendy material to achieve that fairy tale, princess dream-like look. Which I personally love, not complaining about it at all. It is #goals!

Another amazing thing with this dress is that it comes with more than 30+ colours for you to choose. You can also customise to fit your body shape and size. And I'm sure you will look great it in no matter what!

2. Satin Dresses
Satin V-neck A-line Floor-length Prom Dresses
Satin is a material that I dream of wearing it. Satin is so timeless and elegant, and it can never go wrong for any formal event. I chose this dress, although it is floor length, but it has spaghetti straps which is still great for S/S season. Dress like Cinderella with the light blue dress,
pair it with a pair of simple black, white or beige heels and you are ready! You don't have to do much dressing up to make the outfit stand out. And I'm sure that it will be THE dress for any occasion.

3. Mermaid Dresses

While scrolling through the Mermaid Prom Dresses category,  I saw this lace see through dress that just shouts 'Buy Me!' Haha! TBH, I would not get myself a mermaid dress, as I do not have that summer bod that everyone work hard for, or even born with (good for you, if you do). But looking at these tight fitted dresses, it might be an inspiration for me to start! Fresh new #goals in 2019? Loll we'll see 😉

Trumpet/Mermaid High Neck Lace Floor-length Ruffles Prom Dresses
Lace is so pretty, I love the see through dress yet it does not look inappropriate. As a dress it shows off elegance and feminine of delicacy, especially for lace. I love lace as a material in a fashion item. Whenever a fashion item is made with lace, my eyes are drawn towards it and want to buy it. This is no different. Hahaha

Also with the colour black, it is perfect for evening wear and I can assure you, it is not too over the top. I would definitely wear this to a formal event such as prom or even a dinner party.

4. Bold Colour Dresses
Prettiest Princess Scoop Neck Satin Tulle Appliques Lace Asymmetrical Cap Straps High Low Prom Dresses
I always have that idea of formal dresses have to be either white or black or some neutral colour. But MillyBridal have so much colour choices for you to pick! A red dress is so pretty for a formal event, and also a great way to catch attention 😉. (Just saying)

But all seriousness, choosing a bold colour dress is perfectly fine and yet I applaud you for being comfortable in yourself and expressing yourself with colours! I love colours and I definitely will choose, for example a red dress as a bold colour dress to a formal event. And I encourage you should do it too!

These are just some of the dresses that I would wear to a formal event such as weddings or proms.

Have a festive holiday and summer (if you are from Aus or NZ)! Enjoy the last few weeks of 2018!
🎄Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! 🎉
Can't wait for a fresh start in the upcoming 2019!!

Pink Floral Maxi Dress | Tosave

6/03/2018 12:26:00 pm

Hey all

I'm back here with a collaboration with Tosave!

I got a couple of clothing items from Tosave and am quite excited to share this experience with you guys!
I have the choice to choose anything fashion and/or beauty related from Tosave within a $15 budget. Hence, it's a challenge, that I'm willing to take! Cause I want a good quality item with a low price.

The first product is this Pink Floral Maxi Dress. First of all, I always wanted to try and pull off a maxi dress look, cause I can never do it due to my height. I'm only about 5'3", and dresses designed and made from the Western brands will cater to women who are much taller than me. So, I decided to take this chance and try it on.

After a month of waiting, the products finally arrived and it is my turn to review and give you guys my first impressions.

First impression:
1. The material was more silky than I expected. It stated on the website that it is cotton blend. But it feels like pajamas, so silky and smooth, also very cooling. It is the type of material that doesn't wrinkle that easily.
2. The dress is a tad bigger than what I expected, hence it doesn't fit me well. It is really lose on the waist and the dress touches the floor when I stand.
3. The dress has pockets! Such a plus! But the pocket is quite shallow, so I don't see any use of putting things in, cause there might be a high chance of it dropping out.
4. The overall of the dress is quite nice, I quite like it and it is really comfortable to wear, perfect for the spring and summer weather. But because of the shiny, silky material of the dress, I'm not entirely sure if I would wear it out of not.

I created a couple of styles on how I would style this dress, and my personal favourite will be with the belt and the floppy hat for a nice cool spring day.
Had to wear a belt to create a smaller waist. And to create a look that it fits me.
Somehow I feel taller in these pictures with the maxi dress, interesting. Cause I was so scared it will just swallow me up and become very overwhelming on me. And then I'll just look like a short dwarf covered with tons of fabric 😂
Next, for a more night life style, I dressed it up with a leather jacket that I got from Uniqlo. Love the jacket! And it is still comfortable to wear around and walk about for the entire night too.
It is also a perfect dress for a nice cozy night in. Just pair it with a knitted cardigan and some socks, grab a book with a cup of hot chocolate and chill with your pup! Comfy nights in!

My 2nd item I got from Tosave is a White Lace Tank Top. The lace is a bit flimsy, it just falls down when wearing it. The material itself is also very sheer. And it is also a bit tight on me. Which is why I did not take a picture of me wearing the top.
The top is only around $3, which is why I'm not expecting much for its quality. If the lace and the material of the top is better, I would definitely wear it out with a jacket or a cardigan over it.
Now, I think I would just wear it as a inner wear for a little lace peaking out of my (over exposed) top (if I ever have one).

These are my little small review and lookbook on how I would style the maxi dress and the tank top.

Till next time!

My Dress Wishlist | Formal Event Edition with MillyBridal

Bridesmaid Dresses MillyBridal

Hey guys!

It's been months from my last post! Finally, back with another one right now!
I'm not going to repeat myself with the same old same old introduction again.
So let's get straight into it.

In this post, I'm going to be sharing with you my dress wish list (Formal event edition).
I do have a couple of weddings to attend in this coming months and next year.
Man, finally I'm at that age where people are getting married!
Or my friends are just awesome and ready to get onto the next chapter of life. 😂

Anyway, I need to do some serious dress shopping. My earliest wedding that I have to attend is coming up soon in July. And I still don't really have a dress for the reception. Or do I?
Well you know, when there's a reason to add on a new addition for your wardrobe, why not? 😝

MillyBridal has a variety of selection for us to choose from. Dresses for brides, bridesmaids, for mothers, prom and also for evening wear. There is something for everyone to their own style and liking, a perfect place to get your perfect dress for the special day!

I do have a few styles in my mind for these weddings as they will be held in different countries.
I have a couple of weddings that are going to be held in Malaysia. The hot and humid weather is a huge factor on what kind of dresses I will choose to wear for the special occasion.
For a typical wedding in Malaysia, it starts with a wedding ceremony in the morning at church. So on a hot day like that, something short and comfortable yet still stylish will be ideal for me.

As I was scrolling through MillyBridal for some inspiration dresses.
I came across onto the section for Pink Bridesmaids Dresses, and I was in love with the extensive choices and styles they have!
The fashion style in MillyBridal is more likely designed for the western society. So, I'm trying to look through and see which style I can pull off with all these choices!
Since the wedding is in Malaysia, I would like to choose a subtle yet fashionable dress for the ceremony and also the reception.
And I think I managed to narrowed down into a couple of styles!

1.  Short Soft Pink Lace Dress
V-neck Elegant Lace Sashes / Ribbons Short/Mini Sheath/Column Bridesmaid Dresses
V-neck Elegant Lace Sashes / Ribbons Short/Mini Sheath/Column Bridesmaid Dresses
If you followed my blog long enough, you know I love pastel colours, and more specifically pink! (Well I kinda wrote that in my 'About Me' Page too.) 😅
I found this soft pink lace dress and I fell in love with the soft lace and colour of it.
For a spring and summer look, this short dress with the sleeveless style and lace brings out the feminine side and is perfect for the hot and humid weather in Malaysia.

V-neck Elegant Lace Sashes / Ribbons Short/Mini Sheath/Column Bridesmaid Dresses

Just saying! I really love the back of this dress! The lace is #goals

2. Navy Two-Piece Dress Set
Chiffon V-neck A-line Floor-length with Lace Bridesmaid Dresses
Chiffon V-neck A-line Floor-length with Lace Bridesmaid Dresses

I saw this two piece set dress in the Blue Bridesmaids Dresses section and I love the style of it! I wonder if I can pull it off, because of its crop top and long dress. I'm only an Asian average height, so maybe long dresses can be overwhelming for me. But I would love to give it a try!

This dress would be excellent for the wedding reception.
All in all the lace top with spaghetti stripes is my favourite part of this whole dress, and I would actually love to get one and wear it for a special occasion one day!

3. White Asymmetrical High Low Dress
A-line Scoop Neck Satin with Ruffles Asymmetrical High Low Informal Prom Dresses

While I was looking through MillyBridal, I was drawn into all the lace dresses, but my aim for this post is to have a variety of styles, so I can have a broad selection of choices when I do need a dress for a special dinner or occasion.

I saw this white dress and I think it will be ideal for evening dinners or even parties! I would love it to be beige and maybe add some glitter on the top, that would be amazing!
The style of this dress will be accentuate my body and it fits for all kinds of occasions.

Here's my compilation of my dress wishlist for formal event edition. This post is sponsored by MillyBridal. Thank you 😁 Comment down below and tell me what is a formal dress that you would like to try it our or wear.

Till next time!

Strapless Bra that Supports Your Bust! | Upbra Review

1/30/2018 10:49:00 am

Hey all!

Happy 2018!!

I do notice that it's almost the end of January 2018.

This post was suppose to be posted last year, but all of my time was used up with my family and friends throughout the summer holidays. I still have last year's trips that I went, and nope I do not have the time to organised through everything.

But, lucky you! I have free time from work, so I might have the time to start writing again.

Anywayyyy

There's really no point for me to say sorry for being late again cause of my busy life outside of blogging. But, that would be my reason once again.

Life has been busy as usual. And I finally have the time to sit and give a review on a couple of products that I was given.

So this was how it happened.
One day, I received an email, and in the email the company was asking me to review their product. In my head, I was like fun! That would be an honour and I couldn't wait! So (let's skip the boring details) and I finally received my products.

Firstly, I do want to apologised with the company, because of my busy schedule, I couldn't write this review on time.

I was given the opportunity to test and review two products from Upbra. Upbra aims to give women the perfect adjustable lift-up and cleavage bra. The results from many women said that Upbra bras provide support, enhance cleavage and stability that will last throughout the whole day! Amazing!

When I read about their products, I do want to reject this amazing offer, because I am not aiming for any lift, I do have a bigger bust comparing to an average Asian woman. Thus, I do not need nor desire to enhance any cleavage nor lift up.

But, as I was researching about their products, Upbra's bras also claims to provide support even for strapless bras. Now, this is interesting to me, as I do have a bigger bust, most strapless bras could not provide me any support at all. They kept on falling down, and I have to keep on readjusting the bra. That's why I gave up on strapless bras, which leads to me not wearing any off shoulder tops or dresses or sleeveless tops.

As Upbra's strapless bra sparks my interest, I decided to go for it. I received their Strapless Bra in nude colour and their best-seller Convertible Bra in the colour black.

Here's my experience with these bras.
I tried the Strapless bra first, as it was the one that caught my attention first. When I wore it, it definitely have more padding than what I expected, and I am not use to so much padding. In the beginning it is kind of uncomfortable for me, I have to keep on adjusting until I am kind of comfortable in it, but not 100% comfortable. The cup was a tad bit bigger when I wore it and everywhere just seems wrong. My first impression of this bra was uncomfortable and it doesn't fit me right. I was disappointed.

Then, giving the bra a second chance, I tried it again with a off shoulder top that I recently purchased. I hooked on their amazing bra feature, which is their cleavage control straps, which is connected with the bra cups, and move enhance my bust upwards and inward for a slight natural lift. The cups fit better and it fits perfectly.

Also, it have an extended hook system (4 hooks in total), and I also hook on the 2nd hook to make it a tad bit tighter. Since then, the bra snuggled on perfectly well. I can move around without worrying about my bra was going to fall off, and it feels comfortable enough for me to go out and about for the whole afternoon.

The bra is designed specially with formulated vinyl on the insides of the cups in helping to grip your bust better and provide extra support. I love this feature and it really does its job. It doesn't feel uncomfortable, it just feels like you are wearing a normal bra.

Once it fits perfectly, I went out to give them a try! It was a hot humid summer day here in Australia. I  was sweating all day in the heat. Took some nice pictures just to show that I am comfortable in this strapless bra and !!miraculously!! I can move all around comfortably without any worries. I had the confident to wear an off-shoulder top and just walk around freely! It was amazing and my bra stayed intact through out the whole day!

The Convertible Bra also have the similar features with the Strapless bra and I like it as a bra itself too. The amazing feature for this bra is that it cannot be strapless, but it can convert into all kinds of looks that I need for a bra! It is definitely amazing how many looks it can convert into. I felt supported and comfortable in them. Though I started with a not so good experience, in the end, it was a great outcome and I do recommend everyone to have a try!

There is a slight downside for these bras, as they have thicker cups that contain with padding, Sweat can be seen collected on the bra cups after a whole day out and about, but it is what it is. I think just wash it after and wearing them, before it smells and become gross. You don't want that to happen.

It is nice to be back and I hope to be back more often! This year is going to be hectic as I will be travelling a lot and it is also my final year in uni! (OMG TIME FLIES!) But all in all, I will never abandon my "readers"  (if you guys are still around).
Have a great 2018! Start the year with a smile.
