Port Stephens│Three Monkeys Cafe│The Depot on Darby @ Newcastle

12/01/2016 10:12:00 am

Hey ya peeps!
This is a real throwback post, all the way to July! Loll! (28.07.2016)
At first I would like to re-edit some of the pictures, and the lazy bugs came, and I was lazy to do it.
So then, credit to Tim for all the pictures! =D
Only a few of these are mine.

Anyway, during my winter break, as I have nothing else to do.
My friends decided to have a road trip down to Port Stephens.
As me, the international kid, never been anywhere before.
They always give me this pity look of, 'how come this kid never travel and look around Sydney?'
And so they decided to bring me around!
Great friends, I have.
So, Port Stephens, nothing much.

Only the sand dunes.
As in there's tons of sand.
The place is quiet and not much people around, which is awesome.
Get to stay away from the crowded city once in a while.
This is why I love Australia, the blue sky, blue sea and wanderlust nature!
If you guys saw my snapchat before, it was because that I have to walk down these mountains of sand.
And both my sneakers are filled with sand.
Much of sand! Hahaha
Look at that sand! Practically like the dessert. Just not the hot temperature, which is great. =)

Thanks guys! =D
We should have more road trip together!
Then we drove down to Newcastle to have lunch there.
With our spontaneous decision, and look up through Google, we went over to Three Monkeys Cafe.
I ordered their muesli with fruits. Yums!
The boys orders burgers, which looks amazing!
Then we walked past this cafe, and I saw they serve freak-shakes! Like literally awesome humongous freak-shakes!
I ordered their Strawberry Shortcake. Which is in PINK!!
Man, I'm love it! Well duh~ this is my first freak-shake. And I've been wanting to try them since I know about them.
Get ready for the diabetes!
Sugar rush!!
That's our day trip from Sydney to Newcastle for the day.
And I hope you had fun reading them.
Till next time!

The Local Mbassy @ Sydney

11/16/2016 10:09:00 pm

Heeeyyyyyy!!

And I apologise for the much delay.
After my last post which is up last month, I was basically busy with me being at home.
Me fixing every Malaysian food craving in a week.
And now here I am in KL, trying out an internship program.
My life is just always on-the-go!
I need to rest up seriously!

Anyway, back to what I have to promise and write for you guys.
Here's what I ordered in The Local Mbassy on my birthday
I've always wanted to go there, because it's soooo Instagram worthy! Obviously.
And my friends were willing to bring me there, so why not!
Since, I'm not that hungry, I shared with my friend a Red Velvet Waffle.
The presentation looks so pretty!!!
The Local Mbassy is well known for its red velvet pancakes, lattes and waffles.
Basically it is to do with red velvet.
But I do have to say, it doesn't really taste any different from any normal waffle.
I don't drink any coffees (if any of you don't know), so from my friend's perspective, the latte is actually very sweet, and doesn't taste like coffee at all.
So, for overall taste, it's just so-so.
For presentation, it definitely is Instagram worthy!
I would love to go back and try their mains instead.
But do remember that Local Mbassy is much more on the pricy side.
So, for this short post.
I'll try to update as much as possible before the year end.
I still have my WhitSundays trip waiting for me to share it for you all!
Hang on for that!

Until then.
Thank you for just chillin' and waiting for any new posts.
It is much appreciated.

Boon Cafe @ Haymarket, Sydney

7/31/2016 07:56:00 pm

Hiiii
Let's just jump right into it, shall we?
Yes, is another food post! =)

I was out with a good gal pal of mine, and we randomly chose this place to have brunch cause well the images online looks great!
So we wanted to try it out!
And we did!!
Boon cafe is a modern Chat Thai diner! So check it out!

Coffee, as you know I'm not a coffee drinker, so obviously is not mine.
And I'm sorry for those who are curious what coffee drink is this, I'd forgotten.
So my apologies.
Pandan Custard Toast $4
We ordered it cause it was on the recommended items for this cafe, and it was not wrong!
For this amount of toasts and it actually have the taste of Pandan, is awesome!!!
Is creamy, thick and the flavour is just perfect!
As some stores, their pandan flavour doesn't have the taste of pandan, so this is food from back home!
Gosh I miss kaya!! ><
I ordered the Nahm Prik Nuum Sandwich $13
Which basically contains northern region green chilli relish, spicy pork herb sausage (which caught my attention), soft-boiled egg, soft herb and pickled cabbage salad.
And in conclusion!
It tasted like otak-otak! And is amazing!! The spice is not as bad as you can't keep on eating spicy, but is tolerable.
I'm missing this dish now....
My friend ordered their dish that was recommended online, and she said that it was a good choice that she ordered this, cause she love it!
Naam Todt $13
Which contains fried fermented pork and rice cake, peanuts, soft herbs, pickled cabbage salad.
And it sounds and look amazing doesn't it?!
While waiting for our food, well I finally took some selfie from my camera.
My insta, go check it out!! - sarahlee95

Then we had time to burn anyways, so we head over to Hyde Park.

Like I said in my last few posts, Uniqlo is basically my fav and have already taken up half of my closet.
Well it kept me warm in winter, so why not? =)

Black Star Pastry│Doux Amour @ Sydney

7/18/2016 06:53:00 pm

Heyyyyy,

Finally back after some busy days!
I was busy with my Christian Fellowship Camp (FOCUS Camp) up in the Blue Mountains.
That was fun!
And now I'm half working (meh~ kinda), I got an internship during the holidays, and I'm glad that I'm able to slowly step into the working world.
So we'll see how it goes! =)
Internships here and in Malaysia is different.
I only have to go to work for 2 days/week. And only work for 3-4 hours a shift.
So it ain't that bad.
A slow step into the working world indeed.

But let's go a bit before these all things happen.
I went out with my good friend, who was willing to drive me around and also bring me around Sydney like a local!
So I get to visit these cafes that only the locals know. (or mostly the locals know hahaha!)

Let's begin this Dessert Day!

21/6/2016

Black Star Pastry

Well I mentioned Black Star Pastry before, when I first came to Sydney.
Here.
My cousin introduced me their famous Strawberry & Watermelon Cake!
Since then, I fell in love with it! And have been craving for it ever since!
So we made a trip over to Newtown to grab the cake!
Also, it is sooo worth for the pictures again!
A piece of cake costs $7.50, not a cheap cake I know, but worth all the money! =)

Also worth all the different angles! =D

Doux Amour

I saw these cute puffs on instagram, and by the way, follow my insta @sarahlee95 and I just wanted to go to this cafe to check it out!
And yes it's adorable and cute and just irresistible!
How can it be so cute!!??
So from left to right:
Frog: Matcha Flavour
Penguin: Black Sesame Flavour
Pig: Rose and Lychee Flavour
Bear: Nutella Flavour

So yeah, they are really worth the pictures, but only worth for once.
Just sayingggg~ (but it's true, just worth for one visit.)
And is also good to go with friends! *ADVICE!*

#OOTD
Pink Sweater: Forever 21
Inner White Shirt: TaoBao
Cardigan: H&M
White Pants: Uniqlo

It was a cold autumn/ winter day.
Learn how to layer up to be warm and cozy =)
So, this is basically the end for my dessert post.
And now winter is here, I've been craving for ice cream even more.
Cold plus cold, I must have been crazy!
And also have you guys been playing Pokemon Go?
I have! Now I'm in level 15! Team Red!!!
So let's chat bout Pokemon, shall we?!

Calabur Cafe & Diner, Bondi Junction @ Sydney

6/04/2016 08:37:00 pm

Hey peeps!

Back with a short post!
I wanted to update my 'dead blog' before I can relax and do my assignment, or else this post will forever be at the back of my mind annoying me.

So, I went to Calabur Cafe & Diner at Bondi Junction with my relatives.
Well I never knew this store existed until I was there. #newbieinsydney

Hidden in a small spot in one of the busy streets in Bondi, Calabur serves a mixture of Asian cuisines.
This cafe is clearly one of those perfect small and cozy cafes ever! The best kind of place to hang out with your friends and family!
I did mention some cafes back home are cozy, but I was wrong.
This cafe, is small but yet is amazing!
Sadly, you can't make any reservation in advance for breakfast and lunch.
You can only make reservations for dinner.
The great thing about this cafe is that they serve all day breakfast! (which is actually quite normal over here)
Apparently everyone loves breakfast!
I ordered one of their famous dishes, called the Mama's Egg Pudding - $16.
Which is steam egg with bacon bits and Chinese sausages, toasts and salad.
Doesn't sound much, but it did it's job in filling me up!
And I love it, is just so good. The egg is light and fluffy and it matches well with the toast and the sausages.
A great choice for a light meal.
In addition, I ordered their detox juice! It's pretty in pink!
And here goes to another short post!
Hugs and Hearts for all of you, my readers! =)
I only have two more weeks of uni left with just 2 and a half assignments to go.
Can't wait for my winter break to start! To let my adventure begin!
Talk to you guys soon!

The Grounds of Alexandria @ Sydney

5/24/2016 06:58:00 pm

Hi Hi!!

So glad that I'm back to my little corner of everything.

My cousin brought me over to The Grounds of Alexandria for the first time.
With what I saw in the pictures, it was already amazing!
The whole place is just so Instagram worth, just saying~
I really do love the place, it's big enough to have 3 different places to dine in, and also a few stalls to sell cute mini doughnuts and pastries.
I never tried those pastries as we were full from our huge and amazing lunch!
Just look how cute and mini those pastries are!
I would definitely try it when I visit this place again.
So my cousin and I, had lunch at The Cafe.
There's also The Garden and The Potting Shed to dine in which also have really beautiful ambiance and great food for you to enjoy.
Being serious here, I have no idea what to order.
And I was just looking at the menu for so long!
In the end, made the decision to have their The 'Ground' Burger for $19.
I love the chips so much, it's just crispy on the outside and everything melts once you bite it in! Just heavenly!
My cousin ordered their Lamb Ragout Pappardelle for the same price as my burger too.
I was worried for their huge serving, but with my cousin and I sharing the chips, we manage to finish off all the food.
And the burger isn't as big as I thought, which is great!
They have a bakery too!
Even though I would love to enjoy all of their pastries, sadly I was just too stuff.
They also have a flower shop.
Might be a great place to buy a last minute present to an event =)
They also sell candles and pretty cutleries in the store, so go in and check it out!
A photo posted by Sarah Lee (@sarahlee95) on

The main entrance to the cafe is decorated prettily with lights and potted plants.
#OOTD
Top: I'm sorry I don't remember where my black tank top is from.
Cardigan: Cotton On
Pants: Uniqlo
Sunglasses: Gucci
Bag: Pierre Cardin
Shoes: Toms
The weather isn't as cold, so I can just wear lightly around, which is awesome!
*Now I'm missing my shorts*
This is The Potting Shed area to enjoy tea with family and friends, I love how they decorated here.
They also have this picture printing machine in every dining area, once posted the picture in Instagram with their specific hashtag, the machine will print out the image in 30 seconds.
And my once private Instagram became public just for this, because I wanted a free printed picture.
This was the picture that's printed! Look how cute that is! =D
And of course, an awesome place with great ambiance and amazing food, just brought my whole mood up.
Did I mention that they have a petting zoo too!
But I was in a hurry, so no pictures were taken.
How amazing is this place!
I'm glad that I'm back, but uni has been busy.
So, I'll will see you guys when I see you! =)
Enjoy!

Hana Cafe @ Tanjung Bungah, Penang.

4/01/2016 10:09:00 pm

Hi Gals!

Since I was back with a throwback post last week, let's continue again with this post too!

Visited Hana Cafe a month ago with my besties!
And I never really wanted to go cause it's so far away from my place.
I have to literally go round half of the island just to get there.
And what do you know, I was the one driving too! *hah!*
Hana Cafe is famous for it's Bingsu (Shaved Ice) and also their fried chicken, since we are so 'adventurous', we ordered both!
We ordered the Honey Nuts Bingsu for RM12.00
I can say that this is quite worth it for that price, in such a big bowl filled with really fine shaved ice and full of nuts.
The ice is much more fine than the normal ice kacang that we normally know.
It just melts in your mouth immediately!
It does have a con though, there's this powder that they added, which is almond powder, or so that I was told. I hated it, it just tastes weird!
But overall is good!
The fried chicken gave me a shock on the price!
For only 6 pieces of fried chicken, it's RM28.00.
We ordered the Spicy one which is coated with Korean Chilli Sauce and chopped peanuts.
Even though we fell in love with the crispy chicken and the excitement of the spiciness kicking in, the price of the chicken is a bit too much.
One side of the cafe is decorated really beautifully, so since it's there, might as well take a picture of it right? =)
This is just a great angle with great timing that's all!
And also the bear became my 'great friend', lol!
I hope you guys have a fun time reading this and also guess how tall I am!
Hahahaha =)

Cafe

Creameal @ Jln Phuah Hin Leong

3/25/2016 06:45:00 pm

Hi!!!

In this week's post, I'm going to write about a cafe that I have visited when I was in Penang.
It's a fairly new cafe, that opened this year.
And I went mainly for the waffle.
Cause well you guys know, I love my waffles~ ♥

And so, I "kind of" made my friend to bring me there just to try out their waffles.

Ice creams here is Creameal are all handcrafted.
I tried the Peanut Butter and the Earl Grey Lavender ice creams.
Both taste were strong!
I prefer the Peanut Butter one, cause I also love my peanut butter.
But my friend prefers the Earl Grey Lavender.
They have different kinds of ice creams everyday.
Still, I believe that the famous ice cream flavours will be there.
If you guys don't know what to choose, just ask to try it out and then only make a decision.
Okay, for only RM11.90.
We get 2 pieces of handmade waffles, and also 2 scoops of handcrafted ice creams of our choice.
The waffles are different from the ones from Brown Pocket (which was the best waffle [for me] in Penang)
The waffles from Creameal are much more thicker and bigger in size, and also crunchier and crispier compared to the one from Brown Pocket.
This is definitely up to your own taste.
I like both types of waffles.
But, if I really must choose, *OMG I don't know either!*
I have to say the ones from Creameal.
It's just that these are much more fluffier.
I like it!
So that's it for today's post.
Go check Creameal out in FB!
When I'm back in Penang, I know for sure that I'll go back to this tiny little waffle shop, just for my delicious waffles! =)

Breakfast with My Girls!

2/07/2016 07:28:00 pm

Hi Hi Gals!!!!

Happy February!!
Happy Chinese New Year too!!

Time sure flies and now we are celebrating Chinese New Year already!
Like What?!!

But I'll keep all my CNY events for the next post!
Today, I'm going to talk about my breakfast with my girls!!
Nicole and LC!

We went to Pit Stop no.12, which is located in Lorong Chulia.
I've been there a few times already.
Here
Nicole wrote a post about it here!

So since she wrote about it, with all the information that you all need to know.
I'm just going to be brief in my post.

In my opinion, I'm a huge fan of this cafe personally.
Because the ambiance is really cozy and it's not that crowded.
I just can't stand crowded places, too noisy and annoying.
I brought a few of my friends here once and they love it too!
If you ask me what food is good in Pit Stop Cafe?
They serve breakfast all day!
What's more better than having your breakfast as your lunch?!
They also serve great and delicious pancakes with ice cream!
Also, their carbonara is awesome!!
Go try it out yourself!! =)
#OOTD
Black Long Sleeve Top: Kookai (Aussie brand)
White High Waisted Shorts: Cotton On

Finally I have the chance to 'steal' their pictures!
I was so lazy to edit the pictures, and I don't look that great anyway (Nicole's angle never make me look great)
So what's the point of editing again. =)
All I have to 'steal' them =)

Hey, I would like to know what is your favourite kind of breakfast?
Tell me on the comments below =)

I hope everyone of you will have a prosperous and be healthy this year!
