First Half of 2017 - New Buys & Fav Products

5/17/2017 08:00:00 pm

Hey y'all! I would like to share on what makeup products I had purchased when I was back in Malaysia last summer and lovin' it! I wasn't going on any major hunting session to find the perfect makeup product to try and buy. And of course, I did not go through any research on searching what products is the most worth it to buy and which is suitable for me.
To summarise it all, I definitely bought these products spontaneously!
 Blush: Nars - Bumpy Ride
Lipstick: M.A.C. - Brave
M.A.C. is a brand that I always look up to and never have the guts to even go in to the store to try it out. As I'm sure all you beauty peeps out there knows, M.A.C. employees are not the best at customer service which also equals to me not being brave enough to step into the store to look around. Also it's interior is just so slick and mature that I feel like I am not suitable to be in there.
'But how did you even manage to buy a lipstick from M.A.C.?' you would ask.
I was doing a favour for my cousin to buy a M.A.C. lipstick, as it was cheaper my M'sia than in Aussie. So, I did it. Finally first step into the store, and 'WHAO!!' The choices of colours for the lipsticks range are endless!
Anyway, I'd picked up the lipstick for my cousin. I was with my mom at the time, so my mom was like, would you like one? I was like nah, I wasn't really into lipsticks. (Because they tend to dry off your lips, not fun) Of course, my mom said 'I know you want one, which one do you want?'
I have no idea, and the salesperson was like expecting you to know all the names of their well-known lipsticks. I was clueless. In the end, the salesperson picked this deep nude colour with a pink/red base - 'Brave' and I love it! It brightens up my whole makeup look. Especially that I'm fair, and don't really put much makeup on everyday, it's perfect!
I bought it without reading the any reviews about M.A.C. lipsticks, but I know for sure that my cousin loves it, and she owns a few of them already. Also hearing from many people saying how pretty the lip colours are.
The lipstick doesn't dry up your lips as much as I thought, but it is best to put a layer of lip balm before putting on your lipstick. The colour stays on in a decent amount of hours. It does transfer [bummer], so it's best to bring the lipstick with you. The packaging is small enough, so that you can reapply when you are out and about.
NARS is also another brand that I love and admire, but never own one before. My first encounter with NARS is when my mom wants a blush and foundation. So, I recommended her to this brand.
Also, due to the fact I have to help my cousin buy some makeup. I drop by NARS for a sec just to look around. Mom on the other hand said that she wants a new foundation. Which also reminds me that I would like to have a blush.
And of course, NARS is well-known for its Blush - Orgasm.
My mom owns one of it, and I was planning to get one for myself, so that I don't have to sneak in to my mom's vanity just to use it. Then, the salesperson recommended me this new shade for the S/S season, called Bumpy Ride.
Pink base, really pigmented. I love it!
Though it doesn't have the gold glitter like Orgasm, but its fine. I love this shade! It gives my face a healthy flush look, and I received quite a few compliments from it whenever I wear it.

That's it for my Fav products!
Till next time x

Althea

Base Makeup Box Review│Althea Box

1/31/2017 11:27:00 am

Hey girls!

Finally another post right?
It's been a while.
This post took me quite longer than I thought to try out every product.
And also with CNY and doing my internship this month. The whole month has been busy.
But I did it! (With some help of my friends too)

So, I received a 'Base Makeup Box' from Althea to try out and do a review on it.

What's an Althea Box?
They're curated specially by the Althea Korean Team back in Seoul. Each month, Althea will release 3 beauty boxes for fans to try. They're limited edition and limited in stock, which makes them a "SOLD OUT" Item on Althea. The prices are a steal as all items found in the beauty boxes are FULL SIZE items.
Unlike the conventional beauty boxes where you have to subscribe (and pay). Althea Boxes comes with no subscription fees and no surprises (heart attacks). Buy if you like what you see! Wait for the delivery 10 - 15 working days and unbox it!

In this box, there's 8 products in total.
I felt really blessed and grateful that I was chosen to be one of the bloggers to review this product.
Products:
1. Witch's Pouch: Stripe Pouch
2. Mamonde: Flower Essential Mask - Rose Moisturising
3. Secretkey: Natural Daily Pure Sunstick
4. Milkydress: Tril Beige Silky Velvet Primer
5. Aritaum: Real Ampoule Color Corrector - Purple Beige, Peach Beige, Mint Beige
6. Witch's Pouch: Triple Cover Glow Foundation - #23 Triple Natural
7. A Concept: Concealer
8. A Concept: All-in-one Brightening A: Cushion -#23 Natural Beige

These 8 products are your essential for your base makeup.

Witch's Pouch: Stripe Pouch
This pouch is able to keep all these items inside and still have a bit of space left.
Perfect for travelling and you don't have to worry that you can't fit in all your makeup products.
Althea is well-known for its pretty well designed box with the products inside.
The design also changes with the holidays/ seasons.
The box that I received is their new Christmas design.
In light blue with snowflakes and snow all around the box.
Simple and very pretty.

Mamonde: Flower Essential Mask - Rose Moisturising
The Rose Mask is very very moisturising.
After I used the product, my skin feels so soft and I just couldn't stop touching it. (which is a bad thing).
But, it feels so soft and moisturise.
I would definitely recommend it.
I really need to be more hard working to put on masks and take good care of my skin.
This is also me wearing the products on my face, look at that result.
Secretkey: Natural Daily Pure Sunstick
It's my first time seeing a stick sunblock.
When I opened it I was 'How do I use this?'
It have a scent to it, I don't personally like it that much. Smells like medicine in a way.
Contains SPA 50+, PA+++
Apply it evenly after your moisturiser and before any makeup products.
Apply it on places with high exposure with UV rays such as your face.
The product is like a thick balm and is sticky, though it stayed all day long.
I went for a swim, and I can still feel the product on my skin. And gave me a sense of relive.
Though it is a small product, I would use it for travelling more than an everyday use product.
I personally would not reach it when I do my everyday makeup.
Milkydress: Tril Beige Silky Velvet Primer
This primer is just like what it says on the tube.
It's like a tinted moisturiser. But it will fill up your pores and keep your skin clean, clear and oil-free all day.
With my oily skin, it does control my pores before my face gets oily again.
Use it as a base before putting any foundation or BB creams.
Aritaum: Real Ampoule Color Corrector - Purple Beige, Peach Beige, Mint Beige
Colour correcting became a  trend not only in the western beauty culture but also in the eastern side.
This is my first ever colour correcting concealer.
It is to conceals and corrects redness and dark circles.
Use it before your BB cream, after your primer.
The product have the ability to neutralise the discolouration of appearance using complementary colours.
Mint Beige: to neutralise the redness on your skin.
Peach Beige: Brightens the dark circle areas.
Purple Beige: Cover your dull and yellow skin tone.

It is the first ampoule that have 40% of moisture.
**For the first time using, press on the top longer or 30 times for the product to come out.
The colour itself is very opaque, and have to blend it out, but the outcome will shock you.
And you will love it, just like I do.
Witch's Pouch: Triple Cover Glow Foundation - #23 Triple Natural
Foundation is not really on my street, but I always wanted one because of its high coverage.
And I can wear it for events or dinners.
With this foundation, I do say that it doesn't dry out my skin.
My skin looks brighter and with its high coverage my skin looks so smooth.
It contains moisture coating Vitamin B from royal jelly strengthen the immunity of your skin.
**Palmed the bottom of the product to make the pumping easier.
A Concept: Concealer
The concealer is not such a great product.
I put it on after I apply my BB cream and blend it out.
With my oily skin the product disappeared in just one hour.
The product is creamy, and I was so excited to use it.
But it doesn't go well with my skin type.
It might be good with other types of skin.
The product will not only conceals but also brightens up the area.
So places like the T-zone, pimples, dark spots and wrinkle areas are the optimal areas.
It's a small product also perfect for travelling.
A Concept: All-in-one Brightening A: Cushion -#23 Natural Beige
The case itself is not really as high quality compare to Laneige.
It's not as smooth to open it.
The puff itself is also harder than the Laneige's puff. I prefer the A Concept's puff, as I can have more control over it.
The product itself is a light BB cream. Light coverage but build-able.
It have a light scent, but you will get use to it quite fast.
I had my friend to try with her dry skin. It stayed on for a whole day.
While I have oily skin, it stayed on for a good half day before I have to reapply again.
The cushion pact have triple functionality of whitening, wrinkle care and sun protection with SPF 35, PA+++.
With the content of Aloe Barbedensis Leaf Extract will bring your skin a tone lighter finish.
It have a matte finish which is a plus! Best part is that is not sticky at all after applying.
I would recommend to use it as an everyday product.
Due to its overwhelming responds, this box is now sold out in Althea.
But be on a look out for other boxes with many different kinds of products.
Check it out here.
Hope that you guys like this post.
I will try to update as much as possible (though I say it in every post)
In 2 more weeks my internship is done, so by then I'll be more free.
Till then.

KOSÉ SEKKISEI Special Edition Trial Kit Review

3/04/2016 02:04:00 pm

Hi Hi Gals!!! =D

Let's just get straight to the point, shall we?
I received a bag of Kose Sekkisei Special Edition Trial Kit for me to try it out!
And here is my opinion on these products! =)
Check it out!

The SEKKISEI Trial Kit includes these following products (from left to right):

  • Bihadagoyomi Mask (3pcs)
  • SEKKISEI White Liquid Wash (20ml)
  • SEKKISEI Lotion (100ml)
  • SEKKISEI Emulsion (70ml)
  • SEKKISEI Clear Whitening Mask (10g)
  • Exclusive Setsuko pouch (Kimono Style or City Chic Style)

Before I start, let me share with you all about KOSÉ SEKKISEI.
SEKKISEI products are designed and made to restore translucence to women’s skin for over 30 years!

Specially-designed for skin translucency, SEKKISEI products harness the power of Oriental Herb extracts, which are carefully-selected from about 100 different plants, creating a harmonious and skin-loving formula that gives women brighter, even-toned and moisturised skin.
it!

A trio of oriental plant extracts: Coix Seed (Chinese Pearl Barley), Melothria (White Lotus) and Angelica work diligently to keep your skin in perfect condition, protected from the harsh environment.

Fall in love with 5 star products from SEKKISEI this year, which come together in its special edition trial kit! Perfect for first time users who wants to experience the difference in SEKKISEI products themselves!

SEKKISEI White Liquid Wash (140ml/ RM131.40)
Cleanse skin without stripping away moisture. Taurine-based cleansing agents leave skin clean and hydrated; while Rubus Suavissmus Extract enhance skin dullness and soothes UV damage. Skin is restored to its optimal condition, ready for the next skin step!

How to use: Dispense 1 to 2 pumps onto your palm and add water then gently rub both palms together until lather is formed. Massage the lather onto face then wash it off thoroughly.
Verdict: I like the slight flowery scent in this product, not too much for my sensitive skin. And also it is really easy to use, it really does on what it said on the product description. It doesn't dry out my skin, and it feel really refreshing after washing it out!

SEKKISEI Lotion (200ml/ RM180.20 | 360ml/ RM275.60)
Bestseller!
It's has been rated in the top 10 skin care products in almost every beauty website and magazine!

It contains ingredients carefully-selected out of 100 types of oriental plants.
Used as a toner or a mask, the fine-textured hydrating lotion balances out skin’s moisture levels, prevents dullness, soothes redness and more.

How to use:  Pour lotion generously onto a cotton pad and pat gently on face.
Verdict: There's a strong alcohol scent to it. So, my poor sensitive skin reacted quick! It became red really fast due to the alcohol. So I do recommend not to use it, if you have sensitive skin like I do.

SEKKISEI Emulsion (140ml/RM191.80)
This quick-absorbing moisturiser works deep into skin, preventing freckles, dark spots and dryness.
Ingredients like Inula Britanica Flower, Chinese Pearl Barley, Paeonia Albiflora Root, Melothria Heterophylla and Angelica reveal a more translucent complexion.

How to use: Apply 1 to 2 pumps on a cotton pad and sweep over skin.
Verdict: It's a bit oily for me, especially on my T-zone. Then it starts to itch because of my also sensitive skin. (So sad having combination skin) On the plus side, my skin does absorbs really quickly, just like what it said. But I think is too heavy for us oily and in addition of sensitive skin!

SEKKISEI Clear Whitening Mask (80g/RM94.30)
A gentle peel-off mask that removes dullness and dead skin cells, brightens and hydrates at the same time!
Chinese Quince extract inhibits sebum production, while a blend of oriental plant extracts deliver supreme whitening benefits.
Nano-sized black powder allows the mask to spread easily.

How to use: Spread it across your face (avoid eyes, eyebrows, hairline, & lips area). Once it's dry, gently peel it off inwards from the outer areas of your face.
Verdict: Whenever I hear about peel off masks, it just doesn't appeal to me. Cause whenever the mask is dry and I have to peel off the mask, it just makes my skin red. So I rather use a clay mask or a sheet mask, so that it doesn't irritate my skin. But this mask is gentle enough to not make my skin become too red, ( there's a bit of redness, but not as much as other products), plus it helps to remove my sebum and also some blackheads out easily and effectively!

Bihadagoyomi Mask
It is a compressed dry mask sheet that works perfectly with the SEKKISEI Lotion.
It gives instant hydration for our skin.

How to use: Place a bihadagoyomi mask into the cap and pour SEKKISEI Lotion until the mask tablet puffs up. Place on face for 10 minutes and notice instantly hydrated skin!

*Sorry for no pictures, had no time to take them cause I was busy with some personal matters

Verdict: I find this mask so cool and fascinating! It's just so unique! I mean is as small as a pill, then after soaking it with the lotion if just puff up!
Tip: Might want to put lesser amount of lotion especially for sensitive skin like me, due to the strong alcohol from the lotion!
After it puffs up, it became a sheet mask (like the one we normally get from the stores, it's much thinner, but it's still strong enough to not be rip apart) and it works great for me. Secondly it says it's for instant hydration! My skin feels really hydrated and amazing! I do recommend for you guys to try it out, especially if you guys need a extra boost of moisture for your skin :)

Overall View:
I find this kit is perfect for beginners to try the products out. So yes, do give it a go! =)
Also, the trial kit comes with a Setsuko pouch that can be choose from two designs which are the Kimono style or Chic style.
Both designs I find it cute and the size is just perfect enough to bring it out for travelling!

SEKKISEI trial kit (RM99/pack) (GST included)
Kimono Style
Chic Style

In addition! Yes there's some more!
If you are a huge fan of KOSÉ SEKKISEI products!
This might be perfect for you!
This is a one-of-a-kind SEKKISEI Sakura designed edition of your product!

SEKKISEI Lotion Sakura Design (500ml/RM331.70)
SEKKISEI Kit Sakura Design (Lotion 140ml, Emulsion 70ml, Lotion Mask 1pc/RM150)

Chinese New Year Outfit 2016!

2/27/2016 02:43:00 am

Hi Hi!!

I've been busy the last few weeks, so I apologised for not updating sooner.
You know how it will be.
When laziness hits after the whole day of being busy.
And all you want to do is just sleep.
Yea that's what happened to me.
But anyway! Let's get into the post!

Chinese New Year have been fun!
Get to wear new clothes, received red packets plus meeting family. =)

I did mention from the last post that I'll be posting about my CNY.
So I'm going to share on what I wore during CNY.

Day 1 of CNY
I wore a two piece outfit.
Cream in colour with a layer of something like a net over the whole top and the skirt.
I like the colour.
I like how trendy it looks.
Best part is that it goes with everything!

Top + Skirt is from Lynn Boutique.
Wore the Statement Necklace that I bought from TaoBao.
Heels are from NEXT.
Bought them from my last KL trip! =)
Next outfit is this white top with a ribbon in the front.
Which is from NEXT also.
Pastel pink shorts is from A.S.A.P.

This wristlet is my go to purse for basically all my outfit in CNY.
Pastel pink wristlet from Charles and Keith.
This navy blue dress is from SuperDry!
I know, shockingly they have dresses there.
Love the top part of the dress!
Lastly this pink and white stripe dress with a hint of yellow is from Lynn Boutique too!
These are the outfits that I wore to dinner or family gathering, you know for special occasion and that's why I took pictures of them.
Other times I just wore some normal clothes.
Nothing worth to take pictures of.

Hope you guys like this small and short post!
Will 'talk' to you guys soon!

Althea Haul!

1/07/2016 10:29:00 pm

Hi Hi Gals!!

Happy New Year!
It's 2016!
And I'm still going to be posting some things I bought last 2 months ago.
Starting the year with a haul! Awesome! =)

I have heard and read that Althea is a awesome place to shop for Korean skin care and make up products.
Cause they sell it on a much more lower price and also with fast shipping too!

My friend and I wanted to try it after hearing some great reviews on it.
And this is a small little haul, to show you gals what I bought from that website.

I have to say, shipping wise it's really awesome!
Products were shipped directly from Korea, and only needed 5 working days to arrive.

The packaging is just simply girly and pretty!
It shouted pink inside out!
And I love it!
They really do give out awesome and amazing discounts on products.
And with only RM150 spent, you'll have free shipping!
It's really a win win situation!

I only bought 3 products to try it out, cause well I just want to try it out!
After spending lots of time reading reviews and thinking which one I should buy.
I only narrowed it down to these.

Innisfree - Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask
RM43

I've heard many good reviews not only on this product but also on the brand itself too!
And I would love to give it a try.
So that's why I bought it!
Yay to my first Innisfree product!
Hahahaah!

This product, I bought it because:
1. There's tons of amazing reviews on it.
2. I buy it together with my friend, so both of us can try it out together.
3. After the discount, it's consider quite cheap!

Vitamin Capsules
RM25
And also it can last a long time! =)
The last product I bought, is for my own problem!
Well if you guys doesn't have blackhead problems I envy you!
I've tried Holika Holika pore strips before, and it works great!
So now I want to try their 3 steps blackhead strips.

Holika Holika - Pig-Nose Clear Black Head 3-Step Kit
RM7
So, taaadddaaaahhhh!
These are my items that I purchased from Althea.
I haven't tried any of them yet!
That's why I couldn't give any of my opinions on these products.
But I think I'll be able to use them happily!
Tell me, if you guys have these products, what is your own opinion on them?
