How to Mix Patterns for Spring and Summer

5/17/2014 12:45:00 pm

Hey Pretties out there!! =D
I know I've been gone for a month or so. So sorry about that.
I'm having an important exam this month, so I have to neglect my blog for a while.
So that I can study and revise for my exam. =)
Hope you guys can understand =))
My exam is not over yet, is just that I have a little bit time in between.
So I'm gonna update =)
See how good I am =))

So from the title, I'm gonna give you guys tips on how to mix patterns.
Since now is Spring and Summer is coming up.
Patterns are really trendy right now.
The usual pattern that almost everybody know is the Polka Dots and Stripes, which never gets old.
Now recently, Floral, Tribal and Houndstooth patterns are in trend now. [ And of course more, just naming a few]
I personally love the Tribal prints and Floral patterns. =))

So how do you mix patterns while dressing up??
Usually, we match one pattern top/bottom with a plain top/bottom.
So that it doesn't look too clash or dizzy.
But why bother to dress so plain? YOLO!!

So here, I'm gonna teach you guys a secret on how to wear patterns from head to toe. =))
Here's the secret!!!
WEAR THE SAME BASE COLOUR!!

Yup, that's it!!
Just wear the same base colour of your top and bottom, and you perfectly mastered the trend of how to mix patterns and prints =))
So if you guys still don't get it. I have pics down below to show you guys =)
Leggo~!!

Outfit number 1
I've matched my black base stripe top with my black base floral skirt.
As you can see, it doesn't look too clash-y.
And it's still prefect for S/S seasons =))

And for shoes, I've matched it with my usual black heels. Heh =D
Since black goes with everything =)

Or my fav red flats =))

Top : Cotton On
Skirt : Cotton On
Heels : some boutique
Flats : Joy & Peace

I know, both outfits were matched with floral skirts, it's just a coincidence =))
Or I should say, I love floral patterns really much =D *hearts*

Outfit number 2
In this outfit, I've matched this navy blue base with little white heart prints, with a navy blue base floral skirt.

As you can see, there's a lot going on, but you don't feel dizzy. =)

Top : Lalu
Skirt : Forever 21
Heels : some boutique
Flats : Joy & Peace

Am I standing or jumping?? ;) *smirk*

Thanks to my friend Isaac to help me edit this pic below =))
I really love the effect though, the feeling is so strong. [shameless me] =D

And most of all thanks to my bestie Nicole for helping me taking these pics. =) ♥♥♥

P.S. : I did not edit my pics, mostly what I did is increase the exposure level and sharpened it. That's all =)
So I have to say that Nicole really took some really 'accidentally' good pics for me, and I can't thank you enough =)
Thanks!! =))

Hope you guys love this tip that I've shared with you all. =) ♥♥

My last paper of my exam is at June 10th.
So I hope you guys can be patient enough to wait for my next update =))
But I'll try to update in between.
Thank you =)

Love Me!! XOXO ♥♥♥♥

  13. I tend to stick to just one patterned item when I dress up. It's either my top or bottoms, not both. But I like the second outfit you went with!
